Many thanks to everyone for their response to my post last week about Losing My Mojo/Passion/Joy. I have been painting as I had to complete a painting as a gift for my niece but still don't have that joy and excitement that I used to have.
Through the Soul Comfort e-course that I won I have been learning embroidery. This is my first attempt, it's not brilliant but I'm a beginner and just starting out so I'm proud that I finished it and with more practice I hope to get better.
I keep my embroidery bits and pieces in a bag my youngest son made at school in sewing lessons!! It makes me smile to use it.
I really do have artistic ADHD - having trouble keeping my attention on one medium - acrylics, mixed media, mixed media girls, collage, gelli art, art journaling, watercolours, pastels, jewelry - pendants, doodling/mandalas/zentangles/dangles.... I've spoken to other artists and this is quite common - they usually have a 2 or 3 mediums that they like to play with. I'm a bit of a jack of all trades and master of none, next year I'm going to keep my learning to a minimum and try to put into practice all the techniques I've learnt and work on my style....
Just a reminder that I'm having a giveaway and more info can be found on yesterday's post.

I think your embroidery is great! You are right. It's not easy. My mom makes beautiful embroidery. So did my grandmother. So, if I need some, I'll just sweet talk my mom instead of trying to do it myself. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Lori! I bet they find it very relaxing!
DeleteI love the embroidery I've seen on here Michelle! Very bright and simple; it makes a statement! Pxo
