Art Sale at Myattsfield Vineyard

Had a great weekend selling my paintings, pendants and Gelli Art prints at Myattsfield Vineyard.  The weather was glorious which encouraged hundreds of people to come to the Bickley Harvest Festival to view the scarecrows, art, crafts and sample the extremely yummy wine.

I love speaking to people about my paintings and my latest addiction of Gelli Art printing.  Whilst I didn't sell any paintings I received lots of encouraging, positive feedback and my artwork was seen by loads of people including children who loved my fishies, my butterfly painting, the bright confetti trees and a little boy was fascinated with my snail painting - he stood there looking at it with his arm in the air tracing the spirals of the nautilus shell. Too cute.

I have plenty of pendants left over and will upload them to the blog and Facebook so if you want to buy any of them then please get in contact with me to sort out the details.

Well, I must go and unpack my car and do some boring housework.  Many thanks to all my family and friends who came along and to all the people who took the time to view my art and have a chat with me.  Hope your weekend went well, take care.

Here are some more of my blogs about my gelli art.

Glass Tray Pendants

Before I went away to Squam I made 50 Pendants to take with me and give away as gifts and I have 14 left to sell for $20 each plus postage in Australia $5 or International $10.

It's very hard to photograph glass pendants, please leave me any tips in the comments section below.  I have not enhanced the photos as I've tried to keep the colours as real as possible.  The Copper House had the flash on but it was the clearest photo.

Contact me if you are interested in buying any:  shellsinthebush@live.com.au

Thank you, have a great weekend.

Glass and Bezel Pendants

Last Monday I made 50 pendants and took hundreds of photographs and lost the cable to my camera-computer when it got tangled up in the cords of the printer...now I have found the cable and can show you some pics...

I buy all my supplies from Annie Howes Etsy store and on her website is a tutorial.  I have found Annie's products and service to be excellent and she gave me a $20 discount on postage to Australia.

I had to cut down my business cards to fit into the organza bags...

I am taking these pendants with me to America to give as gifts to people I meet.  Any I have left I will be selling in October when I've returned.

Not everything went to plan as you can see from these rejects - they loose their colour if you put too much glue/Diamond Glaze on them esp before setting them in the trays...what I then did was soak them in warm, soapy water until the cabuchon, tray and paper separated and am making some more.

Happily Ever After - A Charmed Life

Sometimes our 'Happily Ever After' dreams end abruptly with the death of a loved one and we like to have something to remember them by.  That is why I ordered this pendant from Happily Ever After artist Renee Burke when my dog, Tessa died on Oct 3rd.

Sometimes we are living our 'Happily Ever After' and would like to be reminded of that daily.  This pendants with charms that I ordered from Renee is an exclusively made charm for members of Kelly Rae Roberts Flying Course Summer 2011 which I will wear to remember all the beautiful women I met on that course of which many are my friends.

Renee writes of the significance of each part:

The wing signifies flight and the feather, our tribe. The bead is a rose quartz colored glass bead - "Rose quartz is known as the love stone. It helps the user feel a strong sense of self-worth, therefore being worth love. Rose quartz is the stone of universal love. When worn in jewelry the wearer feels a sense of self-worth. Healing properties of Rose Quartz:Rose Quartz has a gentle vibration of love for the owner. It gives inner peace and opens the heart to love."

About happilyeverafterbyreneeburke

"I hope to honor, empower, motivate and inspire with my mixed-media art. I also lovingly hand-stamp jewelry with words or phrases that have special meaning to you or names of those you hold dear. Creativity and art, along with my family, make my heart sing and are my 'happily ever after'. I look forward to getting to know you and would be delighted to do the same! xo".
I love my pendants and if you would like your own beautifully handcrafted, lovingly hand-stamped jewelry then contact Renee using the above links.

Thank you Renee, I will treasure them always.

Monday Morning Art Group

During art group this morning I finished off the Wine Bottles - I think, I'm not too sure about this painting for a lot of reasons....

Here is the painting that I'm going to be working on during the painting demo session on this Sunday for the opening of the Kindergarten...

Here are the glass tile pendants that I'm working on at the moment - glued onto the pics:

And here is my glass tile pendant charm - it's my girlie logo - she's a little washed out and I added a bail to the bottom of her so I could add some more charms to her.  :D

Glass Tile Pendants

My glass tiles arrived on Friday, so on Saturday afternoon I got stuck into making my pendants.  I followed the tutorial from Tracy Yarbrough  at Chickpea Studio and this video by Tam from willowing:

Here are some of the photos I've taken over the weekend of the pendants:

I found some photos of my art and printed them out onto card - you can see some of the glass tiles glued onto the prints.
The blue scrapbooking paper behind the board of pendants is the paper I used on the back of the tiles - this is one of my favourite papers and I should make a pendant out of that paper.
I cut out card and wrote on the back -'Glass Tile Pendant is NOT waterproof so please avoid getting wet. Thanks, Michelle.  www.shellsinthebush.com.  I have added my biz card to add a bit of colour and so the buyer has some info about me in case they would like to purchase a painting/print/pendant etc.

I even managed to find an old box to put them in for selling and have an nice notice board to display some on too - to sell at the community centre art show next weekend.  Ten pendants were completed this weekend as I ran out of supplies, so will buy some more ribbon and card and get to making some more during the week.

More exciting news - my friend June whom I'm planning an exhibiton with next year - her painting at the arts festival sold - so very happy and excited for her - Congrats JuneBug!!!  :D

Hope you are having a great weekend.
