Sunday Snippets (started by {tinniegirl}) - My week in photos... A collection of photos from your week.
No need for words. Let the pictures tell your story.
Here's my latest painting - I'm not sure if it's finished yet - deciding whether I should outline the stencilled area with black. What do you think? I'm lacking a lot of confidence lately when it comes to my paintings...Are they good enough to exhibit?
Here's the painting with my stencil on it:
Here's the different layers - as you can see it started out as a landscape painting....
If you're like me and trying to get your mojo back then try these:
1. Flora Bowley's Boot Camp - it's free and it's aimed at reinvigorating your creativity - and there's a giveaway to her e-course!
2. Tracy Verdugo is giving away some places on her e-course too!
3. Into drawing faces/portraits - the 29 Faces Sept 2014 starts on Sept 1st.
Feathers - 24 of 29 Faces - created on Watercolour paper with watercolour crayons/pencils, acrylics, paint pens with gelli print feather headdress and clothes.
I'm thinking of creating a girl for the Beverley Art Exhibition in April but which one? Thoughts?
Blondie - 23 of 29 Faces...6 more to go in 3 days......
Created on watercolour paper with watercolour crayons/pencils, acrylics, paint pens and gelli plate prints for hair and clothes.
I won't be able to get 29 faces created in 29 days but will continue on over the weekend until I do.... and then we'll have a poll to see which one is your favourite. :D
Day 12 I created during Karen Milstein's Simply Painting Faces class using new techniques for me. I didn't achieve Karen's messy look but she turned out ok.
Day 13 I created on watercolour paper with watercolour crayons/pencils, paint pens with gelli print hat and clothes.
I found a photo on Pinterest of Ava Gardner wearing this big black hat so I used her hat and clothes as inspiration for my lady.
PS Do you love creating gelli prints? Want a place to discuss gelli
printing? To show off your work? Share your ideas? Discuss the pros
and cons of different paints/paper/plates/tools etc? Get some great
ideas on what to do with the thousands of prints you have created?
Days 4 and 5 I created on watercolour paper with watercolour crayons and acrylic paint using the gelli plate for the background print (scrunched wax paper technique).
Day 4:
Day 5:
I haven't been feeling too well over the last couple of days and it shows in my art. Though playing with my gelli plate yesterday cheered me and I'll show you those results tomorrow.
Day 2 face - I created using watercolour paper with acrylic and ink washes then covered in glad/saran wrap to dry. Black paint pen for the face lines.
Day 3 - I created this face in a new art journal and the paper is not really suitable for watercolour crayons, I changed to a soft brush to avoid ruining the paper. Then I outlined the face in black paint pen.
Ayala Art started her 29 Faces Challenge yesterday and I created a face yesterday so I thought I'd join in on the challenge - to create a face per day using any size, style, technique, medium, material or surface.
